Travv, a Stillwater, OK-based AI-native cloud-based veterinary diagnostics platform, has raised $1.6M in seed funding led by Digitalis Ventures with participation from AniVC. The TRAVV Dx platform integrates RIS, PACS, and LIS systems, connecting veterinarians worldwide with expert diagnosticians for teleradiology in radiology and pathology, alongside AI-powered diagnostics and data annotation services. The capital will support product expansion, hospital onboarding, commercial growth, and software integrations.

AI Adoption Fills Vet Gaps

The funding arrives amid rising demand for AI diagnostics driven by veterinarian shortages and increasing pet ownership. Digitalis Ventures, with prior bets on veterinary imaging like Oncura, sees Travv addressing unmet needs in animal health tech. AniVC's involvement reinforces focus on pet health innovations. Travv differentiates through its end-to-end cloud platform including data annotation for AI training, beyond imaging-focused rivals.

Legacy Systems Slow Diagnoses

Veterinary practices face outdated interfaces and slow turnarounds from legacy diagnostic tools. Clunky portals demand extra clicks for image loading and confusing submissions hinder efficiency. Teleradiology services often lag, with competitors reporting days-long delays. These pain points exacerbate vet shortages, pushing demand for streamlined AI workflows.

Cloud Platform Speeds Radiology

Travv's TRAVV RADS/Dx offers cloud-based teleradiology with Cloud PACS and seamless practice software integration for rapid insights. It pioneers novel cloud diagnostics while providing high-fidelity data annotation datasets for vet and human AI models. Unlike imaging-only tools, Travv builds infrastructure for broader diagnostics starting with radiology.

SignalPET, Vetology, and Radimal focus on AI radiology screening, while Aiforia targets pathology analysis. Travv's comprehensive approach integrates global expert networks and annotation services to scale AI development.

Digitalis Leads Animal Health Push

Digitalis Ventures, managing over $800M AUM with a Mars Petcare partnership reaching 70k+ vets, led the round signaling strategic validation in vet diagnostics. Their portfolio includes Oncura in veterinary imaging and exits like PetMedix to Zoetis. AniVC, a pet health specialist backing AI diagnostics like MI:RNA, adds niche conviction. This investor mix positions Travv for commercial scaling via established vet channels.

$15B Market Eyes AI Growth

The veterinary diagnostic services market stands at $15.47B, growing at 8.8% CAGR amid pet humanization and chronic disease rises in pets. AI integration and point-of-care testing drive momentum. Travv enters as radiology workflows go live, targeting legacy system frustrations.

Competitors like SignalPET and Vetology emphasize hybrid AI-human radiology, but lack Travv's data services for AI fueling.

Exits Fuel Founder Credibility

CEO Derick Whitley brings digital pathology experience from Antech and Vidium. Co-founder Paul Fisher founded DarkHorse, acquired by VCA and scaled as Antech Imaging Services leader for 20 years. CTO Zachary Runyan built digital cytology at Lacuna Diagnostics, acquired by Heska. Advisors include VCA veterans, providing domain depth for AI radiology expansion.

As Paul Fisher noted:

"There is no 'hope'. We WILL be successful. In three years TRAVV will be one of the top three companies in veterinary radiology."

Pilots Power National Rollout

With radiology services live for early adopters and pilot hospitals providing feedback, Travv plans hospital onboarding and integrations. Funding enables commercial growth and pipeline development for novel diagnostics. Conference presence at VMX 2026 marks initial industry traction ahead of broader expansion.
