PointFive (https://pointfive.co/), the provider of an AI Efficiency OS, has raised $60 million in Series B funding led by Accel. The platform detects deep cloud and AI waste across configuration, telemetry, code and commitments using its DeepWaste engine, then automates remediation through GitHub pull requests, Jira tickets and Slack. The capital will accelerate product development and go-to-market efforts for AI spend governance.

AI Cost Explosion Drives Tool Demand

The timing aligns with surging AI infrastructure spend and rising waste rates. Competitors such as Finout raised additional capital in recent rounds while CloudZero has accumulated $112 million total. PointFive differentiates through five-layer waste detection and autonomous fixes that integrate directly into engineering workflows without agents.

Waste Rates Reach 27-32 Percent

Enterprises face significant cloud inefficiency as AI workloads expand. Research shows cloud waste at 27-32 percent, equating to $100 billion to $182 billion wasted annually in 2026. The FinOps market stands at $15.11 billion in 2025. Traditional visibility tools fall short because they lack deep detection across AI services like Bedrock and Vertex or automated remediation in tools teams already use.

DeepWaste Engine Targets Root Causes

PointFive built a detection engine with over 500 expert optimizations that surfaces waste in multi-cloud, Kubernetes, Snowflake and Databricks environments. Its remediation engine auto-drafts infrastructure changes and routes ownership while tracking realized savings. This agentless, read-only approach stands apart from visibility-only platforms.

Accel Leads Growth Round

Accel led the round with participation from Perpetual Investors, Index Ventures and Salesforce Ventures, valuing PointFive at $500 million post-money. The firm's history investing in category-defining enterprise software including Slack and Dropbox signals conviction in the AI cost optimization category. Total funding now reaches $100 million.

FinOps Market Expands to AI Governance

The broader cloud FinOps market is projected to reach $16.79 billion in 2026. State of FinOps 2026 data shows 98 percent of organizations now managing AI spend, shifting focus to unit economics and ROI. PointFive positions itself as the only platform handling both cloud and AI spend in one place with audit-grade evidence for compliance.

Engineering Teams Own Remediation

Customers such as Nubank achieve verified ROI in ten days through engineering-owned fixes across 45-plus business units. The platform connects in 14 minutes and supports SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 standards, addressing the gap between FinOps dashboards and actionable engineering changes.
