Nexus Inclusion, an Ireland-based AI-powered digital accessibility platform, has raised €3.5 million in funding from undisclosed private investors. The company provides tools that scan websites and digital content, identify barriers, and deliver code-level fixes and guidance to achieve WCAG compliance and broader inclusion.
EAA Deadline Spurs Accessibility Investment
The raise arrives as the European Accessibility Act enforcement began in June 2025, requiring EU businesses to meet accessibility standards for websites, apps, and e-commerce. accessiBe raised $58 million previously, while Level Access secured over $111 million. Nexus Inclusion differentiates by prioritizing remediation and team training over overlay-only solutions.
Accessibility Gaps Cost Businesses Billions
Fewer than 4-5% of top websites meet WCAG standards, and 71% of users with disabilities abandon inaccessible sites. The digital accessibility software market stands at $850 million in 2025 and is projected to reach $1.75 billion by 2035 at 9.3% CAGR per Fortune Business Insights. Regulatory pressure from the EAA combines with an estimated $1 trillion+ spending power from 1.6 billion people with disabilities.
AI Platform Delivers Fixes, Not Just Scans
Nexus Inclusion embeds accessibility checks across the full product lifecycle from design through post-launch monitoring. Unlike competitors focused primarily on detection, the platform explains issues by disability type, prioritizes fixes, and generates code snippets. Continuous monitoring supports ongoing EAA and global compliance.
“Most digital accessibility software can scan and identify issues. The difficult part is fixing the problem.” — Kyran O'Mahoney, CEO
Private Backers Signal Founder Credibility
The funding came in stages: €2 million initially followed by €1.5 million. Undisclosed private investors aligned with the founder's domain expertise in accessibility and RegTech, supporting an early-stage AI startup targeting European regulatory tailwinds rather than seeking institutional VC validation at this point.
Regulatory Wave Meets SME Demand
With the EAA now active, thousands of EU businesses face immediate compliance requirements. Nexus targets SMEs with affordable subscription plans starting at €49 per month, contrasting with enterprise-heavy players like Level Access. The timing positions the company to capture demand from organizations needing practical tools beyond audits.
Team Expansion Targets 30 Employees
The company currently has eight employees and plans to add seven more in 2026, with an aim to reach 30 staff by year-end. Recent hires include a Head of Product and Head of Marketing to support post-launch growth following the platform's May 2026 release.
