Neuraspace Raises €15.6M Series B for AI-Driven STM

Neuraspace raised €15.6M Series B led by Lince Capital, Explorer, and Armilar for its AI space traffic management platform that serves both commercial and defence customers.

Neuraspace, a Portugal-based developer of AI-powered space traffic management platforms, has raised €15.6 million in Series B funding. The round combines €6 million in venture capital from Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Armilar with €9.6 million from Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan. The company's STM & Ops platform automates collision risk assessment and manoeuvre planning, cutting decision time from roughly eight hours to under one hour while detecting up to 33% more high-risk events than traditional methods.

European Funding Fuels Space Autonomy Push

The timing aligns with Europe's drive for sovereign space capabilities. OKAPI:Orbits raised $20.5M in April 2025, while Vyoma secured $17.4M. Neuraspace's dual-use approach, spanning commercial operators and defence customers through its NeuraspaceDEF product, addresses the gap between civil traffic management and sovereign space domain awareness needs.

Congestion Crisis in Low Earth Orbit

Satellite numbers are projected to jump from 6,000 in 2020 to 100,000 by 2030. Manual conjunction screening cannot scale with this growth. Current methods miss high-risk events and require extensive operator time, leaving fleets exposed as mega-constellations proliferate.

AI Platform Combines Safety and Security

Neuraspace's system fuses proprietary optical telescope data with ML algorithms to deliver manoeuvre recommendations up to five days ahead. It also monitors for intentional threats such as jamming and spoofing. Competitors like Kayhan Space focus primarily on autonomous coordination, while Slingshot Aerospace emphasises US defence contracts. Neuraspace uniquely offers a free SYNC tier for ecosystem building and a dedicated defence module.

"Safety and security are no longer separate challenges — they are two sides of the same operational problem." — Chiara Manfletti, CEO

Hybrid Capital Mix Signals Strategic Backing

The blend of private VC and EU-backed public funds validates both commercial traction and national security relevance. Armilar's participation marks a roughly sixfold increase over its 2022 seed investment. Revenue grew more than 350% in the past year, supporting expansion of the AI platform and sensor network.

STM Market Expands Amid Regulatory Pressure

The space traffic management market stands at $19.39B in 2026, projected to reach $28.52B by 2030 at a 10.1% CAGR. Regulatory mandates and insurance requirements are pushing operators toward automated solutions. European initiatives such as IRIS^{2} and STM frameworks create additional demand for non-US-dependent capabilities.

Former ESA Leader Brings Institutional Credibility

CEO Chiara Manfletti previously served as president of the Portuguese Space Agency and held senior ESA roles. This background underpins partnerships with ESA, NATO DIANA, and multiple European ministries, lending credibility in both commercial and government segments.

Platform 3.9 and Defence Contracts Ahead

Recent product updates include Platform 3.9 with improved manoeuvre visualisation. The company is advancing NeuraspaceDEF deployments and negotiating radar installations with the Portuguese Air Force, positioning it for further defence contracts expected later this year.
