Natter, a New York-based AI-powered conversation intelligence platform, has raised $23M in Series A funding led by Renegade Partners. The platform facilitates scalable, anonymized video conversations across enterprises, analyzing them for themes, sentiment, and priorities in hours. Customers include ServiceNow, Accenture, Deloitte, and Mondelēz International. The capital will fund infrastructure, engineering, customer success, and go-to-market expansion following a headquarters move to NYC.

AI HR Tools Gain Traction

The round closes amid surging AI adoption in HR, with 47% of shared services expected to integrate AI by end-2026 per Hackett Group. Recent research ties strong culture to a 36% share price premium across 1,800 companies per Culture Amp. Natter's video-based approach addresses gaps in traditional surveys by capturing deeper qualitative data at scale.

Surveys Fall Short on Depth

Traditional employee surveys yield about 10 words per response, often biased and slow to analyze over weeks. Meanwhile, hybrid work demands continuous, authentic feedback from thousands. Natter's 7-minute conversations generate over 1,000 words of data, enabling insights in hours rather than months.

As The Next Web reported:

"A seven-minute conversation yields more than 1,000 words of usable data, compared with around ten words from a typical survey response."

Video Conversations Scale Insights

Natter supports up to 20,000 participants per session via live, async, or AI agent Natalie interactions. Enterprise-grade features include ISO 27001 certification, GDPR compliance, and automatic PII redaction for psychological safety. Vertical solutions target People/HR, Revenue/Sales, Product/Engineering, Strategy, and Policy/Research.

Anonymity Boosts Openness

The platform ensures "technologically impossible" individual attribution, fostering candid input. CEO Charlie Woodward emphasized this in Tech Funding News:

"It is technologically impossible to pinpoint who said what at an individual level on Natter."

This differentiates from survey tools like Qualtrics, which lack conversational depth.

Enterprise VCs Validate Scale

Renegade Partners led with participation from Kindred Capital, Costanoa Ventures, Rackhouse Venture Capital, and Village Global. Renegade's portfolio includes conversational AI like Daily, signaling conviction in Natter's category creation. The mix blends US enterprise SaaS expertise with AI specialists, supporting global scaling.

Engagement Market Expands Rapidly

The employee engagement software market stands at $1.43B in 2026, projected to reach $4.47B by 2034 at 15.3% CAGR per Fortune Business Insights. Conversation intelligence grows from $27.4B in 2026 to $60.3B by 2036 per Future Market Insights. Incumbents like Qualtrics and Culture Amp focus on surveys, while Natter disrupts with AI-orchestrated video at enterprise scale.

Ex-Big Tech Founders Drive Pivot

Co-founder and CEO Charlie Woodward brings experience from BBC, Uber, Google, Salesforce, and Deloitte. The team has grown rapidly with hires from Typeform, Amazon, McKinsey, and Remarkable AI. Recent additions include VP of Product Miloš Lalić (ex-Typeform) and VP Operations Andrew Olaleye (ex-McKinsey, founded Remarkable AI).

US Expansion Accelerates Hiring

Post-funding, Natter plans 25 new roles in GTM, CS, Product, Engineering, and Ops across NYC and London. Key focuses include a first Enterprise Account Executive in New York to close $1M+ deals and ML engineers for conversational AI. With 80% revenue from word-of-mouth and customers like LVMH, SAP, NASA, and Verizon, the firm eyes broader enterprise adoption.
