Marquee, a New York-based AI-native decision intelligence layer for professional sports recruitment and squad planning, has raised $4M in Seed funding led by AnD Ventures. The platform consolidates data from multiple providers and filters it through each club's unique sporting DNA to automate recruitment decisions. The capital will scale the AI decision layer across global sports.

Sports Analytics Funding Surges 5800%

The timing comes amid record investment in the sector. Hudl secured $230M total funding, while SkillCorner raised $60M in December 2025. Marquee's approach as an intelligence layer above data providers addresses the gap between raw data and actionable decisions.

Data Overload Hits Football Clubs

Clubs face massive transfer market inefficiency, losing billions on failed player transfers. Over 60% of sports organizations have integrated AI-driven technologies, yet most remain stuck with data dashboards rather than decision engines. The shift from "what happened" to "what should we do" creates demand for new tools.

AI-Native Layer Automates Decisions

Marquee integrates event, tracking, financial, and injury data into a unified interface with conversational AI. It automates 70% of recruitment workflows and scans 150K+ players overnight via its Opportunity Radar feature. Unlike data providers such as SkillCorner or video platforms like Hudl, Marquee positions itself as the decision layer that respects club autonomy.

"Recruitment teams aren't looking for another tool or more data. They're looking for a fundamentally different way to work."

Elite Investors Back Decision Intelligence

AnD Ventures led the round alongside Axel Springer Welltech Ventures, APEX, 97212 Ventures, and Jefferson Capital Partners. APEX's backing from athletes including Marcelo and Giorgio Chiellini signals strategic validation from insiders who understand club decision-making pressures.

Market Expands to $31B by 2034

The sports analytics market is projected to reach $17.88B-$31.14B by 2031-2034, growing at 20.5%-27.6% CAGR. AI in sports is forecast to hit $49.9B by 2033. Consolidation moves like Catapult's €78M Impect acquisition validate the football intelligence space, while Marquee's platform-agnostic design positions it to integrate with existing vendor ecosystems.

Israeli Clubs Validate Product

Partnerships with FC Maccabi Netanya and Hapoel Petah Tikva demonstrate early traction, with Marquee serving as the official intelligence layer for recruitment and analysis in both clubs.
