Maneva Raises $27M Series A for Video-to-Action Factory AI

Maneva raised $27M Series A led by U.S. Venture Partners for video-to-action AI using existing factory cameras for real-time defect and safety detection.

Maneva (maneva.ai), a manufacturing AI company, has raised $27 million in Series A funding led by U.S. Venture Partners. The startup's Video-to-Action AI uses computer vision on existing factory camera feeds to detect defects, downtime risks, inefficiencies, and safety issues in real time, then triggers alerts and integrations. The capital will accelerate go-to-market efforts and product development for its VITA and ALIS agents.

Industrial AI Funding Wave Accelerates

The timing aligns with a surge in industrial AI investment. SPREAD AI raised $30 million in Series B in April 2026. Augury raised $73 million on a $1 billion valuation in early 2025. Tulip Interfaces secured $120 million in Series D. Maneva's camera-based approach addresses a gap in plug-and-play deployment without new hardware or production stoppages.

Factory Inefficiency Costs Billions

Global manufacturing operates at roughly 60 percent efficiency, with the AI manufacturing market projected to grow from $5.32 billion in 2024 to $47.88 billion by 2030. Manufacturers face high costs from defects, recalls averaging over $10 million in food sectors, and OSHA incidents costing $38,000 to $150,000 each. Manual inspections and delayed data leave quality and safety gaps that rule-based vision systems struggle to close across changing SKUs and lighting conditions.

Video Agents Deliver Real-Time Action

Maneva built VITA for quality assurance and defect detection plus ALIS for productivity, PPE compliance, and hazard monitoring. Both run on existing cameras and adapt via deep learning rather than fixed rules. This differs from Augury's IoT sensor focus on machine vibration or Tulip's worker-guidance apps. The system claims 99.9 percent defect detection and up to 16x uptime gains.

As CEO Rae Jeong noted in coverage:

"Maneva, an industrial AI company, raised a $27 million Series A led by U.S. Venture Partners."

Tier-1 Lead Signals Enterprise Validation

U.S. Venture Partners led the round, with participation from Bling Capital, Freestyle Capital, and angel Gokul Rajaram. USVP's track record in enterprise software and automation, including investments in Box and Inari Medical, brings strategic validation for scaling AI in manufacturing. Returning seed investors show continued conviction in the platform.

Market Growth Draws Capital to Vision AI

The AI in manufacturing space is expanding rapidly amid labor shortages and Industry 4.0 initiatives. Canadian federal programs have unlocked $79.5 million for domestic AI adoption on factory floors. Maneva's total funding now stands at $38.4 million following the Series A.

Ex-DeepMind Founders Bring Technical Edge

Co-founders Rae Jeong, formerly a research engineer at Google DeepMind, and Kelvin Chan, ex-Magna R&D, combine AI research depth with industrial hardware experience. The team has added manufacturing veterans with decades in operations, food processing, and safety to guide product direction.

Sales Leadership Hires Signal Scale-Up

Maneva recently appointed SVPs Ben Coulombe and Osvaldo Granillo for strategic and mid-market sales. The company is actively hiring systems and software engineers in Toronto and Chicago to support expansion.
