LiveEO Raises €28M for Satellite Risk Intelligence

LiveEO raised €28M ($33M) first close led by Helantic for AI satellite platforms monitoring infrastructure risks like vegetation and pipelines, expanding to defense with Twinspector constellation.

LiveEO, a Berlin-based provider of AI-powered Earth observation platforms, has raised €28M ($33M) in a first funding close led by Helantic. The platforms deliver business-ready risk intelligence from satellite and LiDAR data to monitor vegetation encroachment on power grids and rails, pipeline threats, and supply chain deforestation for EUDR compliance. The capital will scale geospatial intelligence across civil infrastructure and defense sectors, including development of the Twinspector satellite constellation.

Defense Pivot Accelerates EO Funding

LiveEO's raise arrives amid surging investor interest in satellite AI for infrastructure, with Xoople securing $130M Series B in April 2026 for similar AI Earth monitoring. Germany's planned €35B space-related defense spending provides tailwinds, as LiveEO adapts its civil tech stack for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. This dual-use strategy positions the company to capture opportunities in European sovereignty and security.

Climate Risks Threaten Linear Assets

Utilities and pipeline operators face escalating threats from vegetation overgrowth, third-party interference, and wildfires, with LiveEO already monitoring over 1 million km of global infrastructure for clients like Deutsche Bahn and BPA. Current periodic inspections fail to provide continuous visibility, leading to outages and regulatory non-compliance. EUDR mandates starting December 2025 demand verifiable deforestation-free supply chains, pressuring paper, retail, and wholesale sectors.

AI Platforms Enable Continuous Monitoring

LiveEO's Treeline automates vegetation management with risk prioritization and work planning, while SurfaceScout detects pipeline threats like ground movement via case management. TradeAware offers end-to-end EUDR compliance through deforestation detection and ERP integrations. Unlike competitors focused on U.S. utilities, LiveEO emphasizes European regulations and multi-asset coverage including rails.

As co-founder Sven Przywarra noted:

“The civil infrastructure world requires smarter, continuous risk intelligence as climate pressure mounts, and the defense world is waking up to the fact that the same geospatial capabilities are essential for security and sovereignty.”

Strategic Investors Signal Dual-Use Bet

New backers Helantic (defense deeptech), b2venture (AI/climate), EIC Fund (EU scaleups), and DeepTech & Climate Fonds join existing investors, bringing total funding over €72M. Helantic's focus on mission-critical European tech validates LiveEO's Twinspector for infrastructure protection. This mix signals conviction in AI-satellite synergies for both commercial resilience and defense ISR.

Geospatial Market Scales to $226B

The geospatial analytics market stands at $114B in 2024, projected to reach $226B by 2030 at 11.3% CAGR, driven by AI analytics and smallsat constellations. AiDash raised $65M+ in Series C for grid resilience, while Overstory secured $43M+ targeting vegetation risks. LiveEO differentiates with proprietary Twinspector (35cm stereo resolution) and EUDR-focused TradeAware amid regulatory deadlines.

Twinspector Powers 2028 Expansion

LiveEO plans Twinspector deployment by 2028 with a recent seven-digit ESA InCubed contract, partnering Reflex Aerospace for high-res imaging of linear assets. Priorities include commercial infrastructure growth, defense product launches, and team expansion across engineering and sales in Berlin, New York, and beyond.
