LeapXpert, which provides a governance and compliance platform for enterprise use of consumer messaging apps, has raised $180 million in growth financing led by Riverwood Capital. The platform captures conversations on WhatsApp, iMessage, WeChat, Signal, Telegram, LINE, SMS, and RCS for recordkeeping, supervision, and intelligence extraction. The capital will fund expansion of its AI-powered features and enterprise sales.
Regulatory Fines Drive Messaging Governance
The timing aligns with heightened regulatory pressure. SEC and FINRA enforcement actions have produced more than $3 billion in fines for off-channel communications. LeapXpert's approach enables employees to use the consumer apps clients prefer while routing every message into governed enterprise systems, a contrast to legacy platforms that emphasize archiving after the fact.
Compliance Gaps in Consumer Channels
Financial institutions face record regulatory exposure when employees conduct business on personal devices and unapproved apps. Current solutions often force employees into separate approved channels, which clients resist. LeapXpert bridges consumer messaging directly into Microsoft Teams and enterprise archives without requiring clients to change behavior.
From Archiving to Intelligence
LeapXpert's Platform 3.0 adds Signals for conversation analytics and Communication Workflows for automated actions such as approvals. The company acquired StartADAM in 2025 to add Slack, Discord, and CRM integrations. This moves the product beyond pure compliance into productivity tools that extract business value from governed data.
"Messaging is where business happens now. But AI can only work with what enterprises can see and govern." — Dima Gutzeit, CEO
Riverwood Capital Enters Board
Riverwood Capital led the round and took a board seat. The firm focuses on AI-powered growth companies and sees LeapXpert as positioned to capitalize on the shift from compliance archiving to real-time intelligence. Existing investor Portage Ventures also participated.
Enterprise Archiving Market Expands Rapidly
The enterprise information archiving market is projected to grow from $11.33 billion in 2026 to $33.15 billion by 2034. Competitors include Smarsh, which raised funding leading to a $1.8 billion valuation, and Symphony Communication Services, which has raised $511.5 million. LeapXpert differentiates by supporting a wider range of consumer apps and integrating natively with Teams rather than requiring a separate network.
Expansion Targets Government and Global Markets
LeapXpert is pursuing FedRAMP certification through a partnership with Knox Systems and plans geographic expansion in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. The company already serves hundreds of enterprise customers across 45 countries.
