ICEYE Raises €450M Series F for Sovereign SAR Intelligence

ICEYE raised €450M Series F led by General Atlantic for its SAR satellite constellation. The round values the company at €10B amid rising defense demand.

ICEYE, a Finland-based operator of the world’s largest commercial SAR satellite constellation, has raised €450 million in Series F funding as part of a round exceeding €1 billion at a valuation of approximately €10 billion. The company delivers persistent, high-resolution (25 cm) intelligence day or night and in any weather for governments, defense agencies, insurers and emergency responders. The capital will accelerate constellation expansion and sovereign mission system deployments.

Sovereign Space Funding Accelerates

The timing aligns with surging government demand for independent space-based intelligence. European sovereign funds and strategic investors are backing domestic capabilities amid geopolitical shifts. ICEYE’s approach — delivering complete sovereign satellite systems with national data control — fills a gap where optical satellites fail in adverse conditions.

All-Weather Monitoring Gap Persists

Defense and civil agencies require reliable Earth observation regardless of clouds, darkness or smoke. Traditional optical systems cannot meet this need, leaving gaps in maritime awareness, flood response and tactical ISR. ICEYE addresses this with its vertically integrated SAR platform that provides minutes-not-hours delivery.

Constellation and Sovereign Systems

ICEYE operates the largest SAR constellation with frequent launches and offers mission systems such as ISR Cell for rapid sovereign deployments. It recently handed over Poland’s POLSARIS system in under 12 months. This speed and full data ownership differentiate it from analytics-focused or third-party data players.

"Sovereign intelligence from space is entering a new era and the window to build it is now."

General Atlantic Leads Record Round

General Atlantic led the round alongside A.P. Moller Holding, Bpifrance, Solidium and others. The mix of US growth capital and European strategic investors signals strong validation for ICEYE’s dual defense and civil positioning. The round also included secondary components and followed a €300 million credit facility.

SAR Market Expands Rapidly

The synthetic aperture radar market is projected to grow from $7.45 billion in 2026 to $18.81 billion by 2034 at a 12.26% CAGR. Defense modernization and climate-related insurance needs drive capital into the sector. ICEYE’s 2025 results of over €250 million revenue and €100 million profitability demonstrate commercial traction ahead of further scaling.

Targeting 100 Satellites Annually

The company aims for a production rate of one satellite per week and a target of 100 satellites per year by 2028. It is also hiring engineers globally while expanding partnerships such as the Florida Flood Hub for catastrophe response.
