Hush Security Raises $30M Series A for Secretless AI Governance

Hush Security raised $30M Series A led by Akamai Technologies for its secretless identity platform governing AI agents and non-human identities. Battery Ventures and YL Ventures also participated.

Hush Security, a Tel Aviv-based secretless identity and access governance platform for non-human identities and AI agents, has raised $30 million in Series A funding led by Akamai Technologies alongside Battery Ventures and YL Ventures. The round brings total capital to $41 million less than a year after emerging from stealth. The platform replaces traditional secrets vaults with identity-based, just-in-time access for AI agents, service accounts, and other non-human identities.

Akamai Validates AI Agent Identity Layer

The timing aligns with explosive growth in autonomous AI systems. Oasis Security raised $120 million Series B in March 2026, while Astrix Security raised $45 million Series B in December 2024 before its acquisition by Cisco. Hush differentiates by eliminating secrets entirely rather than managing or discovering them.

AI Agent Explosion Exposes Governance Gap

Gartner predicts the average Fortune 500 enterprise will operate more than 150,000 AI agents by 2028, up from fewer than 15 in 2025. Omdia research found 96 percent of organizations run AI agents on governance models not designed for them. Legacy vault-based approaches create standing privileges that attackers exploit, as seen in repeated credential theft incidents across CI/CD pipelines and AI infrastructure.

Secretless Architecture Replaces Vaults

Hush assigns each agent a verifiable identity tied to a human owner and brokers ephemeral, task-scoped credentials at runtime. No static secrets are stored or rotated. The platform unifies discovery, identity issuance, policy enforcement, and audit across AI agents, MCP servers, and service accounts. This approach contrasts with competitors focused on inventory management or secrets scanning.

As CEO Micha Rave noted:

"Every company already knows how to manage identity for its people and its applications. But now software acts autonomously, on its own initiative, inside your most sensitive systems. AI agents need strict identity, not just API keys."

Strategic Investors Signal Infrastructure Play

Battery Ventures and YL Ventures, both with deep cybersecurity portfolios, doubled down from the seed round. Akamai's participation as a strategic investor provides validation that identity governance for AI agents is becoming core infrastructure. The capital will expand engineering, sales teams in the US, and ecosystem integrations.

NHI Market Scales Rapidly

The non-human identity access management market stands at $12.4 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $27.3 billion by 2033. Broader machine identity management is forecast to grow from $21.39 billion to $60.5 billion by 2035. Enterprise IAM vendors are increasingly partnering with or acquiring NHI specialists as the category matures.

Repeat Founders Bring Zero-Trust Pedigree

The four co-founders previously built Meta Networks, a zero-trust networking company acquired by Proofpoint in 2019. Their experience in identity architectures directly informs Hush's secretless model.

US Expansion and Platform Scaling Ahead

With deployments at Kyndryl, which both uses Hush internally and resells it to enterprise clients, the company plans to accelerate US sales hiring and deepen AI developer ecosystem integrations following the round.
