gaiia Raises $40M Series B for AI Telecom OS

gaiia raised $40M Series B led by JMI Equity for AI-native OSS/BSS modernizing telecom operations for ISPs. Enables 4-6 month migrations and AI workflows replacing legacy systems.

gaiia, a Quebec-based provider of AI-driven OSS/BSS platforms for internet service providers (ISPs) and telecom operators, has raised $40M in Series B funding led by JMI Equity. The platform unifies billing, customer management, network monitoring, and AI-powered workflows into a single system replacing legacy software. The capital will fuel R&D, product development, and team expansion.

OSS Modernization Amid Fiber Surge

The raise aligns with surging demand for cloud-native OSS/BSS as fiber broadband expands via U.S. BEAD funding. Competitors like Sonar Software and Splynx focus on compliance and network management, but gaiia differentiates through AI inference directly in workflows. Operators face fragmented systems slowing growth during ISP consolidations and 5G rollouts.

Legacy Systems Erode Telecom NPS

Telecom registers the lowest Net Promoter Score (NPS) among industries due to outdated software. Traditional OSS/BSS setups require 12-18 months for migrations and rely on spreadsheets or multiple tools. This fragmentation hampers scalability for residential, business, and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) customers amid rapid network builds.

AI Workflows Unify Telecom Operations

gaiia delivers a network-agnostic operating system with embedded AI nodes supporting models like Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI. Users build autonomous agents for incident response, scheduling, and fulfillment without custom integrations. Integrations with Nokia, Calix, and Stripe enable seamless operations across PON, Wi-Fi, and billing.

As Marc Campagna, co-founder and CEO of gaiia, noted:

"Telecom has the lowest NPS of any major industry, and the reason is the software running it."

Customers like Vistabeam report 97,000+ automated workflows at 98.5% success rate, proving scalability.

JMI Backs AI-Native Growth Play

JMI Equity, with $11B committed and exits like ServiceNow IPO, leads this round alongside prior backer Inovia Capital. This growth-stage investment signals conviction in gaiia's replacement of legacy systems, mirroring JMI's field service SaaS bets. Total funding reaches $66M after seed from Y Combinator and Series A.

Chase Thomet, Partner at JMI Equity, highlighted the fit:

"gaiia represents the kind of company JMI looks to partner with: a category-defining AI-forward platform."

Broadband OSS Market Hits $156B

The OSS/BSS market stands at $72B in 2025, projected to reach $156.1B by 2034 at 8.7% CAGR, per IMARC Group. Fiber deployments and M&A waves drive cloud and AI adoption. gaiia targets North America, Europe, and Latin America, powering 20+ customers including Cogeco and Breezeline.

Oxio Founders Accelerate Sequel

Founded in 2023 by ex-oxio leaders who sold that OSS/BSS startup for around $100M, gaiia leverages operator experience for faster 4-6 month migrations. CEO Marc Campagna and team emphasize customer-centric design, with SOC 2 Type II compliance. This repeat-founder pedigree validates execution in telecom software.

AI Agents Expand Field Service

gaiia plans AI agents for advanced automation and field service modules, building on recent Nokia integrations and B2B launches. Three years of 3x revenue growth and 10M workflows executed position it for U.S. scaling via NCTC partnership. The funding sustains product velocity amid BEAD-fueled expansions.
