eMabler, a Helsinki-based API-first EV charging management platform, has raised €5.5M ($6.4M) in Series A funding led by Greencode Ventures, with participation from Swiss Post Ventures, Rethink Ventures, and Helkama Kiinteistöt, plus €1M Finnvera loan and €1M Business Finland grant. The platform lets energy companies, retailers, and parking operators embed white-label EV charging into their existing apps and systems through 300+ integrations. The capital will accelerate expansion into Germany and the UK and advance grid-aware charging solutions.
Open Platforms Challenge Closed Stacks
The timing aligns with a shift toward embedded charging. AMPECO raised $42.6M total including a $26M Series B in November 2024, while Virta secured $108M overall. eMabler's API-first model lets partners retain customer relationships rather than competing with a standalone app, addressing demand for integration over vertical solutions.
Scale Metrics Signal Enterprise Readiness
eMabler powers 85,000+ connected charge points and processes over 1 million monthly charging sessions with 99.999% uptime. Key customers include S Group's ABC network, which operates 2,700+ chargers and holds over 50% market share in Finland, plus Helen and Aimo Park. The platform's hardware-agnostic design and ISO 27001 certification support regulatory compliance across 11 countries.
API Layer Differentiates from Full-Stack Rivals
Unlike AMPECO's AI-native full-stack approach or Virta's end-to-end services, eMabler functions as the integration layer that plugs into existing CRM, billing, and loyalty systems. Products include real-time charger management, tariff engines, dynamic load balancing, and roaming via Hubject and OCPI. A recent Adyen integration adds Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Nordic wallets for ad-hoc payments.
As Juha Stenberg, CEO and co-founder, noted:
"End-users want charging built into the apps and services they already use. We've proven that when you make charging a native part of a brand's core offering, you win the market."
Greencode Backs European Expansion
Greencode Ventures led the round, joined by Swiss Post Ventures, which signals interest from logistics and fleet operators. The investor mix combines sector-focused VCs with corporate and government support, validating eMabler's move from Nordic dominance toward Central Europe.
Market Grows from $4.3B to $31.5B
The EV charging management software platform market stands at $4.3 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $31.5 billion by 2035 at a 24.8% CAGR. Trends include open APIs, AI-driven operations, and EV charging as a grid-flexibility asset. Consolidation among players like GreenFlux and Driivz leaves room for independent API-focused platforms.
Hiring and Partnerships Point to Next Phase
Post-funding moves include hiring a Chief Revenue Officer, AI Lead, and senior platform engineers alongside new Adyen and Hubject integrations. The company has established a Norwegian subsidiary and targets deployments in Germany and the UK with grid-aware features.
