Dash0 Raises $110M Series B for OpenTelemetry Observability

Dash0, an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform, has raised $110M in Series B funding at a $1B valuation. The platform unifies logs, metrics via Prometheus, traces, dashboards with Perses, alerting, and AI-powered Agent0 for developers and SREs. The capital will expand its AI nervous system for production environments.

OpenTelemetry Funding Heats Up

The round arrives as investor interest surges in open standards observability. Snowflake announced intent to acquire Observe for $1B after its $156M Series C. Meanwhile, groundcover raised $60M, SigNoz $6.5M, and Better Stack $10M. Dash0's no-lock-in, AI-native approach targets cost fatigue with incumbents like Datadog.

Microservices Explode Data Volumes

Cloud-native applications generate massive telemetry, with 80-95% often unused. Legacy tools create vendor lock-in and unpredictable costs for Kubernetes and serverless workloads. Developers need unified visibility without complexity.

Agent0 AI Automates Troubleshooting

Dash0 ingests OpenTelemetry data natively, offering end-to-end observability with transparent pricing per telemetry volume. Agent0, its AI SRE agent, provides inspectable reasoning for root-cause analysis, PromQL generation, and trace inspection. Recent Lumigo acquisition adds serverless depth across AWS.

As CEO Mirko Novakovic noted:

"The future of observability isn’t expertise concentrated in a few people; it’s context available to everyone."

This developer-first model contrasts with proprietary stacks from Datadog or Dynatrace.

Unicorn Status Draws Strategic Backers

Hitting unicorn status post-$35M Series A and $9.5M seed underscores market validation. The $1B valuation reflects conviction in OpenTelemetry standardization and AI agents amid consolidation like Snowflake-Observe. Backers see Dash0 capturing share from high-cost leaders.

Observability Market Scales Rapidly

The observability market stands at $3.35B, growing at 15.6% CAGR. Alternatively, $2.94B in 2024 projects to $5.40B by 2030 at 10.7% CAGR. Trends favor open standards and AI for cost control in microservices.

Datadog reported Q4 2025 revenue of $953M, up 29% YoY with 603 customers over $1M ARR.

Instana Veterans Lead Charge

Co-founders Mirko Novakovic (CEO) and Ben Ripkens (CTO) built Instana, acquired by IBM in 2020 for around $250M. VP Product Orr Weinstein led Lumigo before its Dash0 acquisition, with prior stints at Google and AWS. This repeat expertise drives Dash0's OpenTelemetry focus.

US Hiring Powers Global Push
