Relaunch Fuels Organic Banner Demand

Bannersnack, an Oradea, Romania-based online banner maker, has raised $1.2M in seed funding led by Pepko Investments B.V. The drag-and-drop platform creates static, animated HTML5 banners, social graphics, and videos compatible with Google Ads, Meta, and TikTok. Relaunched in October 2025 after user demand for the original 2008 product, it grew organically for six months without paid acquisition. The funding will accelerate growth and user acquisition.

AI Surge Boosts Specialized Tools

The round arrives amid AI-driven innovation in graphic design. Canva has added AI features in recent updates, while Adobe Express launched an AI Assistant for conversational editing per Adobe news. Bannersnack differentiates with ad-specific HTML5 exports avoiding rejections, targeting marketers needing quick compliance over broad suites.

Complexity Plagues Ad Creatives

Modern design tools have grown overly complex, forcing ad teams to navigate steep learning curves for simple banners. Exports often fail platform specs, leading to rejections on Google Ads and Meta. Demand persists for the original simple banner maker retired in 2021, as users bypassed redirects to access it.

Drag-and-Drop Simplifies HTML5 Ads

Bannersnack rebuilds the 2008 tool with animation presets like Wiggle and Flip, transparent video support, and one-click multi-size generation. Features include HTML5 fallback images, retina exports, and direct compatibility with ad networks. Weekly updates enhance stability and exports, prioritizing production over bloat.

As Doriana Antohi, CEO noted:

"We grew Bannersnack organically, month by month, with no paid acquisition and a very small team. This forced us to focus on what actually matters in the product."

Pepko Backs Proven Relaunch

Pepko Investments B.V., a Netherlands-based firm, led the round, signaling conviction in undervalued martech relaunches with organic traction. The investor targets seed-stage SaaS in AdTech and creative tools, matching Bannersnack's small-team focus on product-market fit. This mission capital validates the rebuild without tier-1 VC hype.

As Doriana Antohi added:

"Most tools in this space have become increasingly complex. We went in the opposite direction."

Graphic Design Market Scales Rapidly

The graphic design software market stands at $10.14B in 2025, projected to reach $19.51B by 2032 at a 9.8% CAGR per Maximize Market Research. Trends favor HTML5 responsive ads and no-code editors amid rising digital ad spend. Bannersnack positions for display campaigns, contrasting generalists like Celtra.

Competitors include Canva with $589M in funding and Celtra's $25M, but Bannersnack emphasizes niche banner compliance for SMBs and agencies.

Hires Accelerate Product Velocity

Recent hires include Alex Ratiu as Head of Engineering, a returning early team member, and Corneliu Copacean as Visual Designer. Ongoing weekly updates signal plans for feature expansion and team scaling to capture adtech demand.
