Aampere, a Munich-based C2B marketplace for used electric vehicles, has raised €4.2 million in late-seed funding led by Trind Ventures. The platform connects private EV sellers across Europe with over 200 vetted dealers through a digital auction system, delivering binding purchase offers within 48 hours. Aampere acts as the principal buyer, paying sellers upfront before handling logistics and pickup. The capital will support scaling seller acquisition channels and expanding the dealer network into additional European markets.
Off-Lease EV Wave Hits Europe
The timing aligns with a surge in used EV supply. Used EV supply grew 230% in 2026 as off-lease vehicles from the 2022-2023 boom entered the market. Ever raised $31M Series A in February 2026, while Plug raised $20M Series A the same month. Aampere's dealer-auction model targets the pricing opacity and fragmentation that generalist platforms leave unaddressed.
Fragmented Secondary Market Creates Friction
Private sellers currently face slow, opaque processes when offloading used EVs. Battery health uncertainty and rapid depreciation add complexity that traditional classifieds and generalist dealers struggle to price accurately. The European used EV market remains split across national borders with limited cross-border liquidity despite varying demand levels between high-adoption markets like Norway and emerging ones in Southern Europe.
Dealer Auction Delivers Binding Offers
Aampere built a two-sided system where sellers submit a VIN for automated valuation, then receive a guaranteed offer backed by bids from 200+ dealers across nine countries. The platform handles financing payoffs, digital contracts, and free doorstep pickup within seven days. Unlike listing-based marketplaces, Aampere guarantees the transaction and earns from the dealer margin. This approach proved more scalable after the company pivoted from direct C2C sales in mid-2024.
As founder Florian Reister noted:
"Electromobility is on the rise across Europe – but the secondary market for used EVs is still fragmented and inefficient. Right now, what's needed is infrastructure for this secondary market. Aampere is building the platform for it."
Trind Leads with Marketplace Expertise
Trind Ventures led the round and doubled down from its prior investment, citing 4x revenue growth over the past year. Vend Marketplaces ASA, operator of Bilbasen and other Nordic automotive marketplaces, joined as a new strategic investor. GIMIC increased its stake while G-FUND participated for the first time. The syndicate combines seed-stage marketplace specialists with operators who already run used-car platforms at scale.
Europe EV Market Expands Rapidly
Europe's EV market reached approximately $403 billion in 2026 and is projected to grow at 11.7-13.1% CAGR through 2034. BEV market share stood at 19.4% in 2025 and is expected to reach 23% in 2026. CarOnSale raised €70M Series C in 2025, while AUTO1 Group reported €8.2 billion in revenue selling 842,200 cars the same year. Aampere positions itself as the EV-only specialist within this broader used-car infrastructure buildout.
Scaling Across New Markets
With deployments already reaching dealers in six countries and recent expansion into Austria, Aampere plans to deepen seller acquisition in existing markets while adding dealer partners in additional countries. The company is also hiring across sales, marketing, engineering, and operations following the round.
